Florence Troy was a truly remarkable woman. She had a very rough life, lost her own mother at the age of 8, and married a man who would not even let her learn how to drive. When he left her alone, without income or support, she made do by cleaning houses, doing laundry, and whatever other odd jobs she could do to support me, her daughter. And yet she managed to finish high school on her own in her 50's, and always looked at the bright side. I have never gotten over her death all those years ago, nor understood why God called her many, many years before her 5 siblings. I think it was because I was not deserving to have her in my life. However, know that I love you mom and think of you every day.
