Sylvester G. Orth, 66, of 737 Sherman Ave., South Bend, Ind., died Thursday morning at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. James Stamborski will officiate with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Orth was born Nov. 27, 1909, at Manitowoc, son of the late Nicholas and Minnie Jacquette Orth. He married Evelyn M. Harvey Sept, 7, 1939, at Chicago. He had been a resident of South Bend the past eight years and was a retired employee of Bendix Corp.
Survivors include his wife, two brothers, Melvin, of Manitowoc, and Edward of Everett, Wash., and six sisters, Mrs. Louis Slegar of McHenry, Ill., Mrs. C. Swett, of Boardman, Ore., Mrs. Charles Hardin, of Argenta, Ill., Mrs. Margaret Heiden, of Milwaukee, Mrs. Roy Koehn, of Port Washington and Mrs. C. Wilson, of Fargo, N.D.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, where a prayer
service will be at 7 p.m.
