Mrs. Melvin Orth, 41, of 2130 S. 23rd St., Manitowoc, died Sunday evening at Holy Family Hospital following a short illness.Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Henry Letz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Orth, nee Caroline Schadeberg, was born June 20, 1911, in Manitowoc. She attended grade school and was graduated from Lincoln High School. In 1937 she was married to Melvin Orth.
He survives with a daughter, Lynn Carol, and two sons, Frederick and Gary, all at home; father, George Schadeberg Sr. of Manitowoc; four brothers, Ray and George Schadeberg of Manitowoc, Rev. Henry Schadeberg of Rising Sun, Md., and Ted of Bloomington, Wis.; three sisters, Mrs. C. A. Johnson of Duluth, Mrs. William Walker and Mrs. George R. Peterson of Manitowoc.
Mrs. Orth was a member of the St. Theresa Altar Society at St. Andrew Catholic Church, the church choir, and the Catholic Woman's Club.The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
