5 Jan., 1905 - Blair Republican - Mary Ames
Mrs. Mary Ames died of peritonitis at the Robinson hospital last Saturday evening, and the funeral was held at the Baptist church at 10 o'clock yesterday morning, Dr. Richards officiating. Her only son, Arthur, was recently arrested for burglary in Kansas City and was therefore detained by the authorities from attending the funeral. She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Buzzard who lives at Springfield, Mo. and the other was formerly Mrs. Brigham, but has since remarried and her address is unknown. The whereabouts of the two bothers, Calvin and Joseph are not known either. Mrs. Ames was divorced from the late Joseph Ames some twenty five years ago and secured something like $3,000 in alimony in settlement. She had about $2000 of this at the time of her death and in her will left all but a few hundred to her son, Arthur.
