Married
Bradbury – Miller. At Alleghany, February 19, 1874, by R. N. Westen J.P., Horace M. Bradbury and Minnie Miller both of Alleghany.

Alleghany News
There was a wedding that evening and I had the good fortune to be present. The parties bound by the golden chain was Mr. Horace M. Bradbury, son of our worthy citizen John T. Bradbury Esq., and Miss Minnie Miller, daughter of Mr. E. Miller of Alleghany. The assemblage was small – restricted for the most part to the relatives of the groom and bride. The bride is young and was looking her best while the former seemed happy and content with his good fortunes. After the ceremony was performed, the party sat down to a substantial supper which was gotten up in a superb state to the admiration of all. The old custom “Charivareeing” – a custom “More honored in the breach, than in the observance” was not suffered to remain in abeyance and symbol and triangle were called into requisition and another machine that made an awful chattering the name of which I am unable to give, but muttering, deep and awful, were heard to proceed from the couches of those disturbed in their first sleep. The husband and wife are both young and the paths of life lie for the most part before them. May they lead through pleasant places, may the ills of life be few, and be borne with serenity, is my sincere wish.

From Ernest Miller and Sabina Enders personal notes summarized—
Ernest and Sabina’s eldest daughter, Mina, married Horace Bradbury, son of John and Emma Bradbury of Alleghany in 1874. They had 11 children, 7 of whom were alive in the 1900 census. Horace, Mina, John, Emma are all buried in Alleghany Cemetery.
