Services for Moren Whaley, 85, of Slaton will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Westview Baptist Church in Slaton with the Rev. Jimmy Doss, pastor of Freewill Missionary Baptist Church in Slaton, and the Rev. Edward Canady officiating.
Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under direction of Ossie Curry Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Whaley died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, in Slaton.
He was born May 8, 1912, in Huntsville. He married Minnie Branch in 1934 in Madisonville. He worked for Slaton's Green Thumb and the Senior Citizens. He was a retired farmer. A son, Edward, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Moren Lee Sr. of Santa Rosa, Calif., David Sr. and Lewis O'Neal, both of Slaton, and Phile; four daughters, Ruby Bryant of Cold Springs, Doris Louise Whaley, JoAnn Madkins and Pearlie Mae Whaley, all of Slaton; 34 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
