He was born May 8, 1912, in Huntsville. He married Minnie Branch in 1934 in Madisonville. He worked for Slaton's Green Thumb and the Senior Citizens. He was a retired farmer. A son, Edward, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Moren Lee Sr. of Santa Rosa, Calif., David Sr. and Lewis O'Neal, both of Slaton, and Phile; four daughters, Ruby Bryant of Cold Springs, Doris Louise Whaley, JoAnn Madkins and Pearlie Mae Whaley, all of Slaton; 34 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
