Basile - Funeral services for Milan Wayne "Smiley" Lejeune, 52, were at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, August 27, 2003, in St. Augustine Catholic Church with Fr Ken Domingue officiating. Burial was in Reed Cemetery in the Tee-Mamou/Basile area, under the direction of the Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Visitation was held from 2-10 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until the time of services today. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Lejeune died Monday Aug 25, 2003 in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Hospital. He was born Jan 10, 1951 in Iota and was a resident of Basile.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (Boone) Lejeune of Basile; 3 step-sons, Anthony Smith of Basile, Bryan Lesage of Jennings and Christopher LaSage of Cecelia; two step-daughters, Roxanne Touchett of Jennings and Brandy Smith of Basile; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Buford "Rock" Lejeune of Jennings, Connie "Gro" and Barbara (Hargrave) Lejeune and Darrell and Loretta Lejeune, all of Basile; one sister, Joanette (Lejeune) Klumpp and husband, Wayne of Jennings; nine step-grandchildren, his nieces and nephews, Christy, Ben, Jessica, Jason, Mark, David, Joshua and Danielle Lejeune, Corey Klumpp and Stephanie Fontenot; and his Godmother, Gwen (Bergeron) McMillin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Kermit and Pearl (Hebert) Lejeune.
