Teckla Eleanor Johnson was born on the family farm in Riverside township, Clay County, South Dakota. She grew up there and attended rural Ellis White school. She was baptized and confirmed as a Lutheran.
Teckla worked as a housekeeper in Sioux Falls and later in Sioux City, Iowa. She retired and returned to take care of her sister, Martha, until Martha's death. Teckla loved children and was loved by her grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her funeral service was held at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.
