Occupation Master Pastry Chef/Baker, born in Hassfurt, Unterfranken, Bavaria, Germany to Eduard Julius & Antonia Josepha (Reinhard) Tschiggfrey. He was their 10th and last child. He married Elisabeth Anna Kratzmüller on 27 Jul 1935 in Berlin, Germany. WW II destroyed their home & Bakery in Berlin. He was a cook for the Officers during the war and when released from his duties surrendered to the Americans, in which he was then turned over to the Russians. He finally was released from a POW camp in Moscow October 1949. At which time he bought and ran another bakery in Landshut a.d.Isar, Bavaria, Germany for awhile before coming to America.
On 25 Jan. 1956 he with his wife and two of their three sons came to America, Detroit, where his wife already had a sister living.
Ed worked many years at the Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle. He later moved to Hollywood, Florida, once worked at the Marco Polo before retiring.
He died (stroke) while on a visit to a son's home. Wonderful person, calm, never had an enemy, no special interests other than his family. When he smiled it was wide, from ear to ear. Devout Catholic that never, ever missed Mass, which wasn't easy for a Baker working sometimes 7 days a week, wee in early morning/night hours. Greatly missed.

Mark the perfect man
and behold the upright
for the end of that
man is peace.
