Grace L. Aseltine, 89 of Gallatin, formerly of Laredo, MO, passed away Saturday April 6, 2013 at her daughter's home in Gallatin of congestive heart failure. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Laredo Baptist Church April 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage of Gallatin or the Laredo Baptist Church in care of the Funeral Home.

Grace was born March 27, 1924 in Mason, Michigan and shortly after her birth the family moved to Charlotte, Michigan. She was the oldest child of five. She graduated in the class of 1942 from Charlotte High School. Grace worked for a grocery store and a food processing plant. She was married to Elmer Aseltine Aug. 9, 1943 in Charlotte, Michigan and they were married for 69 years.

Following Elmer's honorable discharge from the European front at the end of WWII, their family grew to four children. They eventually moved to Battle Creek, Michigan. She was a housewife up until the time she attended and graduated from beauty school. She bought her own beauty shop in Battle Creek and later sold her successful business to move to a 120 acre farm near Remus, Michigan in 1962. Her career as a beautician extended over 30 years.

She gained her love for making quilts while playing with stacks of cut fabric at her grandmother's house. She blessed her extended family with numerous, colorful quilts and beautiful cloth dolls.

They moved to Laredo, MO in 1995 and she worked as a home health aide until the age of 82. Due to advancing age and declining health, they moved to their daughter's home in Gallatin in April 2011.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Aseltine who died in August 2012, by her parents; three sisters, Clarys, Bethel, Floral and one brother, Robert. Her first born child, John Rae, passed away in 2008 and a granddaughter, Sarah Jane Fox died in 1997.

Grace is survived by one son, David (Sally) of Northwood, N.H., two daughters, Dale Marie (Larry) Stenberg of Lynden, WA and Elaine Kettring of Gallatin. One daughter-in-law, Margo Aseltine, of Olivet, MI. Grace has 11 grandchildren and 20 great-
