JOHN C. HODGE, SR. of Hartsville, Sc, 82, died July 11, 1999.
Funeral services were held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. Burial followed in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery, directed
by Brown-Pennington-Adkins Funeral Home.
Born in Chesterfield County, he was a son of the late Bert and
Mattie Elizabeth Brewington Hodge and the widower of Geneva McLeod
Hodge.
Surviving are three sons, John C. Hodge Jr. and R. McLeod Watkins,
both of Hartsville; and Henry E. Watkins of Germany; two daughters,
Janice W. Hyatt of Cheraw, Sc and Margaret Raseberry of Tx; two sisters,
Hattie H. King of Hartsville and Sallie H. Jones of High Point, Nc;
eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
