Mr. McKelvey died Wednesday at 11:45 a.m. in the Chambersburg Hospital. He had been in ill health for one year. He was 85 years old.
Born Feb. 5, 1880, in Richmond Furnace, he was a son of the late David and Mary Swank McKelvey. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Metal.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mary Shields, Chambersburg R.D. 3; two sons, Norman, Chambersburg R.D.3, and Leroy, Orrstown R.D. 1; a step-daughter, Mrs. Catherine Harvey, Fayetteville; 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
