James Roger "Jim" Head, 63, husband of Reba Martin Head, of 810 S. Almond Drive, Simpsonville, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, following a brief illness at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Chester County, he was a son of Susie McDill Head-Lancaster and the late William Leon Head.
A graduate of Clemson University, The Class of 1964, Mr. Head was a mechanical engineer and retired as Vice President of Maintenance with Fluor Daniel. He was a member of Simpsonville United Methodist Church.
A breeder of Havana Browns, Mr. Head was a member of The Cat Fanciers Association. He loved all aspects of breeding and showing cats.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are two daughters, Charlotte Ford of Greenville and Tracy Head of Lancaster; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Tiny Head of Mauldin; three nephews, Daniel, Michael, and Benjamin Head; two nieces, Meredith Head and Amanda Hollin; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bolt and Lurae Martin; a niece and her husband, Sandra and Richard Lowe; and a nephew, Steve Whitfield.
Memorials may be made to The Cat Fanciers Association Disaster Rescue Fund, P.O. Box 1005, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
Visitation will be tonight, March 16, 2005, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Simpsonville United Methodist Church at 3 p.m., with the burial following in Cannon Memorial Park, Fountain Inn.
