Dale L. Lerew, 80, of Dillsburg, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at his home.

He was born February 19, 1933, on the family farm in Franklin Township, the son of the late Daniel C. and Helen C. (Sterner) Lerew.

Dale was a carpenter and retired from Castle's Lumber in Carlisle. He was a former member of the South Mountain United Brethren Church, Dillsburg and was a life member of the NRA and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Dale is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley M. (Myers) Lerew; two sons, Randy L. Lerew and his wife Carol of York, Rodney L. Lerew and his wife Deborah of Carlisle; one daughter, Sherry D. Neidig and her husband Earl of Dillsburg; and one brother, Donald Lerew of Dillsburg. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Dan, Karen, Jenni, Ryan, Lisa, Zach, Shannon and five great-granddaughters and one great-grandson on the way.

Services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 2:00 pm in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. A viewing will be held Saturday from 1-2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Dillsburg Cemetery-Mountain Road.
