James William (Jay) Adams, 81, Jellico, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin Ky.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Clara; sons, Phillip Meadows, James Denny and Arthur Kenny.

James is survived by his two daughters, Pernia Hatfield and husband, Carson, Joyce Justice and husband, Ronnie; three great-grandchildren, Carson Hatfield and wife, Donna, all of Jellico, Melissa Justice, Frankfort, Ky., Rhonda Cheel and husband, Robert, Frankfort, Ky; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Ashleigh Hatfield, Jellico, Elsie Burger, Sweetwater, Jewey Morgan, MI., Dora Shephard, LaFollette and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Sunday, October 19 at Highcliff Baptist Church with Reverends Raymond Parks and Leonard Siler officiating with Military Honors conducted by Campbell County Honor Guard.

Burial was in Lot Cemetery.

Harp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements
