C. Van Driel succumbs after long illness

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 8, in the First Reformed church for Cornelius Van Driel, 53.

Mr. Van Driel died Saturday, January 5, in Grossmann hospital, after a lingering illness of several years duration. Dr. Henry Colenbrander conducted the services. Special music was provided by a quartet composed of Junior Siebersma, Bob Boonstra, Mary Ellen Mouw and Marlys Hop.

Van Etten funeral home was in charge of all arangements. Pallbearers were Charles Sterrenberg, Hans Vander Maten, Rhiney Rohrs, Jake De Haan, William Van Gorp and Abe Hemmingson.

Mr. Van Driel was born September 26, 1903, on a farm north of Orange City. He was the son of Peter and Adrianna (Van Es) Van Driel. He was married on September 16, 1926, to Ann Mouw.

Survivors include the widow; one daughter (Velma) Mrs. Norman Boonstra; two sons, Donald of Estherville and Robert at home.

Survivors also include three grandchildren; and three brothers, Abe Van Driel of Sheldon, Arie Van Driel of Ireton and Peter Van Driel of Rock Valley; and two sisters, Mrs. Peter Kooiker of Rock Valley and Mrs. Ehner Juffer of Sioux Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters (Nell) Mrs. Joe Harmelink, and Tracy who died at the age of 2½ . Burial was in the Orange City cemetery.
