Poland - Edward G. Spevak (Spivak), 89 of Poland, went on to be with the Lord on April 10, 2013. Mr.Spivak was born March 10, 1924 in Campbell, son of August and Anna Hallopy Spevak.

Edward worked as a utility engineer for Youngstown Sheet and Tube(LTV) for 44 1/2 years, retiring in 1986. He was a charter member of Holy Family Church in Poland, where he sang in the choir and was an usher. After retirement he worked for 7 1/2 years for Henry Nemenz IGA, where he was a greeter. He also sang in the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Choir for many years. As a young man he loved riding his Indian Motorcycles. Edward loved to ball room dance, play tennis, and watch golf. His favorite TV shows were Pawn Stars and American Pickers.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, who he dearly loved, the former, Fran Gatty, whom he married on November 20,1948; daughter, Paula (Bill) Purves of Hudson, OH;
two sons, Thomas (Maria) Spivak of Poland and John Spivak of Hudson, OH; sister, Ellen Fox of Arizona; sister -in-law, Joan Spevak of Long Island, NY; five grandchildren,Gillian Spivak of Hudson, Krista Purves of Cape Carteret, NC, Spencer (Kara) Purves of Benecia, CA, Cameron (Fiancé Anne Kaehny) Purves of Burlingame, CA, Alexandra Purves of High Point, NC; and four great-grandchildren, Lily, Addison, Sophia, and Bailey.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Stephen Spevek.

Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
