Services Thursday For Mrs. D. E. Coen
Death Occurs Tuesday Following Stroke

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the Pott's Funeral Home for Mrs. D. E. Coen, whose death occurred yesterday morning.
The Rev. C.E. Moyer of the Church of God will officiate at the services and burial will be at Mt. Hope cemetery.
Mrs. Coen's death occurred suddenly at 1:40 a.m. yesterday at her home, 1700 North Ninth, following a stroke. Although she had been in ill health for the past four years, she had not been seriously ill.
She leaves her husband and three children, Donald Eugene, 14, Erma Marie, 13, and Kenneth Leroy, 12.
Other survivors are her father, William Wright of Lafontaine; a sister, Mrs. Zelda Bennett, Route 4, Independence; and a brother Melvin Wright, Livingston, Calif. Her mother and two infant daughters preceded her in death.
Norah Edith Wright, the daughter of William and Viola Wright, was born May 30, 1900 at Greeley, Kans., where she spent her early life. Her marriage to D. E. Coen took place at Greeley on Oct. 18, 1920.
Mr. and Mrs. Coen moved to a farm near Lafontaine the year following their marriage, and in 1923 they came to Independnece to make their home. Mr. Coen is an employee of the Union Gas company.
Mrs. Coen was a member ot the Church of God.
In the story of her death which appeared in yesterday's paper, the family name was incorrectly spelled Corn.
