Grandma PRESSWOOD, after a long illness, departed this life in the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. A. RUSHING, Saturday evening [October 18, 1924]. Mrs. PRESSWOOD had recently passed her 72nd year, and had been married since 1870, leaving three daughters, Mrs. Lillian LAWHON of Wichita Falls, Mrs. Linnie LAMBER of St. Louis and Mrs. Minnie RUSHING of this city, making her home with the latter for the past 16 years.

14 Nov 1924 , Gladewater, Gregg Co., Texas Mrs. W. G. Presswood (unmarked grave) Mrs. W. G. PRESSWOOD age 73, one of the best loved ladies of the town, died Saturday night October 18, at the home of her daughter with whom she had made her home for several years. In early young womanhood she married Rev. SLOCOM, who within a few years passed away leaving the wife and two daughters. A few years later she married W.G. PRESSWOOD to which union a daughter was born. In 1908 she was again left a widow. "Grandmother PRESSWOOD" was a consistent member of the Church of Christ and was loved by the old and young alike for her sunny disposition and right living. Her remains were interred in Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. O. T. CRAIG officiating. Published in the Gladewater Hi-Ways on Friday, November 14, 1924.
