James Dean Burton, age 55, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born in Wurzburg, Germany, on December 19, 1957, son of Jimmie Ray and Wanda Sue (Douglas) Burton. On September 25, 1978, in Miami, Oklahoma, James married Theresa Lynn Gunn, who survives at the home.

James and his wife Theresa owned and operated Personal Touch Painting in Iberia for 18 years. He was a member of Patriot Guard Riders and American Legion Riders. James attended Crocker Christian Church.

He is also survived by his mother, Wanda Burton; one daughter, Hilary Richmond and husband David of Waynesville; three sons, James Burton and wife Kristy of Springfield, John Burton and wife Chasidy of Iberia, and Joseph Burton and wife Ashley of Crocker; two sisters, Gail Voiles of Iberia and Sue Wall and husband Darrell of Iberia; one brother, David Burton and wife Becky of Sedalia; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Burton.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 12, at Crocker Christian Church. Bro. Larry Richardson will officiate. Interment will be in Curry Cemetery near Iberia. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the James Burton Memorial Fund.
