Gluth, Retired Tavern Owner

Funeral services for William Gluth, a retired tavern owner and electrician, will be held at 11 AM tomorrow at the Schimumek funeral establishment 33331 Brehms Lane.

Mr. Gluth, who was 79 and lived at 7871 Kently Road in Dundalk, died Thursday at a nursing home following a short illness.

At his retirement in 1958, he had owned Gluth's Cafe at 3212 Pulaski Highway for 25 years. He had opened the business shortly after prohibition ended and in 1942 moved it across the street to a new building he had built.

Even after starting the tavern, he maintained his membership in the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers which he had joined in 1919.

An enthusiastic fisherman and a gardener, he was a member of the Edgemere Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, the former Ada E. Frank; two sons, William C Gluth of Parkville and Edward J Gluth of Baltimore; two daughters, Mrs. Madeline H Costa of Baltimore and Mrs Catherine M Roth of Rosedale, a brother Edward J Gluth of Dundalk; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
