Ferd Skolmutch, ex-policeman dies.
Ferd Skolmutch, 79, formerly of 23 23rd st, NW, died Thursday morning in the Shady Lawn nursing home at Dalton, where he had been a resident since last April.
Mr. Skolmutch was a former policeman of the City of Massillon from 1918 to 1930 and from 1930 to 1968 a private, self-employed merchant patrolman. He was a member of Faith Lutheran church and Eagles lodge 190. He was born in the West Brookfield area.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Pearl Skolmutch; two sons, Verdun Skolmutch of Massillon; Seldon Skolmutch of North Canton; a sister, Mrs. Ada Cecil of Massillon; a brother, Jess Skolmutch of Alliance and five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Gordon-Shaidnagle-Hollinger funeral home with the Rev. Carl A. Roepcke, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be made in Brookfield cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.
