MRS. BERTHA BOWERS
Funeral services were held here Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Wolfe Funeral Home for Mrs. Bertha McNeal Bowers of Omaha, former resident of Villisca who died September 20 in Omaha.
The services were conducted by the Rev. Charles B. Hankins of Grace Methodist Church, Omaha, and the Rev. Herbert H. Holland, pastor of the Advent Christian Church, Villisca. The singing was by Mrs. Frances Gray, accompanied by Martin Hentsch, and the pall bearers were, Orlie W. England, Adrian Hernandez, Julius Krompotio, John Miziak, George Petezelka, and Thomas R. Walker, all of Omaha. Burial was in Villisca Cemetery.
Bertha Wilson Bowers, third daughter of Chas and Elizabeth McNeal was born October 18, 1890, near Clarinda and was 68 years old at her death She was married to John Wilson, now residing in Red Oak, and to them were born three sons, Roy, Everett, and Floyd Wilson, all of Los Angeles, who were here to attend the funeral.
She was later married to Alfred Bowers and for the last 20 years resided in Omaha. Besides her children, she leaves three step-daughters, Mrs. Anita Thomas, Nebraska, Mrs. Naomi Drake, California, and Mrs. Nadine Tiffin, Kansas. There is also a brother, Thos. McNeal, California, and two sisters, Mrs Stella Majors, and Mrs. Mary Simmons, Kansas, several nephews and nieces, one of whom Mrs. Bonnie Ritnour of Villisca. Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Methodist Church.
