Erma Gladys Rivers Horton was married to J. Howard Horton on May 1, 1942 in the First Presbyterian Church, Charleston S.C. They resided in Charleston for most of their lives. When they retired they moved to Walterboro to be close to Aunt Erma's family, the Corbett's. She was a wonderful warm southern lady. There were no children born of this marriage. She had a black cat that she dearly loved named Blackie.
