Robert Easley Whitson, age 86 of Nashville, passed away April 10, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Linnie Whitson; his beloved wife of 65 years, Emma Jean Whitson; brothers, Fred, Andrew and Lester Whitson; brother-in-law, Howard Van Hook; sister-in-law, Sadie Murray and son-in-law, Ronny Graham.
He is survived by his children; sons, Robert "Punkin" D. (Linda) Whitson and Barry E. (Polly) Whitson; daughters, Cynthia Graham, Lisa Bell (Keaton) and Lori Stovall; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Van Hook; and brother-in-law, Bobby Murray.
He was a long time member of 501 Trinity Lane Church of Christ and he retired from the National Guard as a Command Sergeant Major.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013 in Spring Hill Cemetery with Barry Todd Whitson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until the time of service at Spring Hill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief or to the Salvation Army. Arrangements entrusted to Spring Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 5110 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN
