After a lengthy illness, Bessie Ida Adams, age 65, of 2905 Shahan Ave, was called to her heavenly home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Alabama City Church of
God with the Rev. L. M. Holliday and O. E. Steward officiating. Burial will be
in Gadsden Memory Garden with Collier-Butler Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be: Benny Bennefield, Billy Benefield, Lamar Lee,
David Lee, J. B. Copeland, Warren Wheeler, C. L. Harwood and J. C. Adams.
Honorary pallbearers will be all personal friends.

A native of Marshall County and a resident of Etowah County for the past 26
years, Mrs. Adams was a member of Attalla Church of God.

She is survived by a son, Billy J. Adams, Gadsden; seven daughters, Mrs. Lola
Mae Walder, Mrs. W. C. Hayes, Mrs. Robert Miller and Mrs. James Waddell,
Gadsden; Mrs. Dallas Swords, Guntersville; Mrs. Claude Black, Blue Mountain;
and Mrs. Charley Kendrick, Sanford, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. DeWitt Robinson,
Gadsden and Mrs. Ola Welch, Atlanta; four brothers, Paul E. Lee, Boaz; John C.
Lee, Ontario, Calif.; Thomas Ira Lee, Gadsden; and Charles B. Lee, Oklahoma
City, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
