SALEM, N.Y. — Waltraudt "Whitey" Baylor, 83, of Salem, passed away peacefully Saturday night, April 13, 2013, at her residence.
Born Jan. 30, 1930, in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late John and Toni (Engles) Behrens. Whitey received her education at Queens Vocational High School, from which she received a degree in cosmetology. She was a cosmetologist for a number of years and then worked at Miller & Weber, makers of thermometers in Queens for 10 years.
Whitey was a communicant of Holy Cross Church in Salem.
In addition to her parents, Whitey was also predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Andrew W. Baylor, who passed away Feb. 24, 2005; a son, Brian Baylor; and a sister, Eleanor.
Interment will take place at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Saratoga.
