Larry spent as much time as he could with his family and friends and enjoyed playing cards together or taking family vacations to Branson and Minnesota. He was very fond of his nephews and nieces and loved to tease them. His heart never left Denison and he came home every weekend to the farm where he and his brothers kept busy raising exotic pheasants and quail to sell. Larry enjoyed cooking, especially pheasant, goose and duck dishes. Other activities Larry occupied his spare time with included camping, hunting and fishing, and restoring Model A's. Larry was handy and enjoyed woodworking. True to his alma mater, Larry closely followed Iowa State football and basketball games. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa.
