Hedwig "Hedy" Lynn, 76, of Lewiston passed away Nov. 14, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Redding after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Germany and moved to the United States when she was 21. After learning English and how to drive, she started what was to become a 45-year career in the food industry. She was a wonderful cook and loved feeding her friends and family. Mrs. Lynn was married to the love of her life, Richard, for 47 years, and together they raised four children. As a military wife, she had a knack for being able to pull up stakes, relocate, and create a warm and inviting home for her family. Her various homes quickly became the place for friends and family to gather for holiday feasts and celebrations and to play cards and board games. She became known as the Queen of the Kitchen and the all-time Yahtzee champ. She and her husband settled in Lewiston in 1992. There she enjoyed meeting new neighbors, gardening, reading, crocheting, and, of course, cooking.
