Judy was raised in Stanton, NE. and graduated from Stanton (NE.) High School in 1965 after which she attended Norfolk (NE.) Junior College.
On July 1, 1967, Judy married Donald J. Tappe. They made their home in Norfolk, NE. before moving to Alabama for a year. In 1971, they moved to Stanton, NE. where they resided until moving to Norfolk, NE. in 1976.
Judy was employed at the Norfolk (NE.) Regional Center, as a secretary, from the late 1960's until 1977.
Later, Judy worked at Heckman Glass, which she and her husband owned. She retired in 2005.
Judy enjoyed shopping, decorating, cooking and working in her yard raising flowers. She also liked to go camping. She loved her three little dogs and she was very passionate about her family.
Judy is survived by: husband of 45 years, Donald J. Tappe; son and his wife, Dan and Jingbo Tappe, of CA.; sister, Dee Hilkemann, of Stanton, NE.; brother, Raymond "Ray", Jr. and Sonja Lehman, of Stanton, NE.; very special friends, Angie and Travis Baumann and their children, who were to Judy like grandchildren, Anden, Taelin and Atley Baumann and puppies, Star, Minnie and Honey.
Judy was preceded in death by daughter, Jenny and parents.
Burial was in the Stanton Cemetery, Stanton, NE.
