Verna Naomi Merriner, 76 of New Cumberland died Saturday morning at the Weirton Medical Center, She was born February 16, 1910 in Earnshaw, daughter of the later Christopher and Emily Wright Rush. her husband, Clarence Merriner died in August 1973. Survivors include, two daughters, Arlene L. Cool of Colliers and Nelda T. Auftin of New Cumberland, one sister, Erma Tustin of Rieneyzille, Kentucky, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. One son Darrill Merriner and one grandson, Mark D. Cool are also deceased. Friends may call at the Turley Funeral Home in New Cumberland Monday from 3-9 P.M. Services will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 1 P.M. with David Sumner officiating. Burial will be at St. Johns' Cemetery in Follansbee.
