ELKINS — Raymond P Hayes 67 died Monday night at New London Hospital after a long illness.
Born in New London- he had lived in Elkins for most of his life. He was a contractor and builder.
Mr. Hayes was a member the Elkins Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He leaves his widow Mrs. Florence (Buckley) Hayes, a son William R Hayes of New London, three daughters Mrs. Alice M Moulton of Concord, Mrs. Barbara L Schofield of Providence RI and Mrs. Esther R Bailey of Keene. 17 grandchildren, his stepmother Mrs. Shirley B Hayes of New London, a sister Mrs. Margaret Shepard of Franklin, a niece and cousins.
Services will be conducted Thursday at 2 pm at the Chadwick Funeral Home New London, by Thomas Pingree, minister of the South Royalton,VT, Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Burial will be in Elkins Cemetery New London.
Friends were invited to call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 pm.
