Bud has been in Delaware County since he was seven years old. He attended his early years at Old Eucha School and later at Jay. Mr. Mead was retired, self-employed, owning and operating Meads Truck Salvage Parts and Equipment.

Bud is survived by Two Daughters: Redema Curry and partner John Dowdy of Jay, OK and Regena Swift and husband Rex of Strang, OK. Three Sisters: Wanda Faye Brixey of Broken Arrow, OK, Nancy Jennings Gordon of Miami, OK, and Loretta Smith of California. One Brother: Rusty Mead of Jay, OK. Six Grancdhildren: Stony, Marlana, Ginger, Matt, Luke and Lance. Eight Great Grandchildren: Steven, Haleigh, Bodhy, Nicole, Garland, Chloe, Addison and Jacey. Mr. Mead is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bud is preceded in death by both his parents, both spouses: Virginia and Annette. Two Brothers: Amos "Amy" Mead and Gene Ray Mead.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 15, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Grand Lake Funeral Home, Jay, OK. Chapel Services will be held Friday, December 16, 2011, at 3:00pm, Grand Lake Funeral Home in Jay, OK, Rex Swift officiating. Interment will follow at Maysville Cemetery, Maysville, AR. Services under the direction of Grand Lake Funeral Home, Jay, OK.
