Elmer was the son of Isaac and Mary E. Peicsol Barrett. He married Cora Ivy Tredway 24 Jun 1898 in Coshocton County, Ohio.

Elmer G. Barrett, aged 42 years, died at his home on Cambridge road at 4 o'clock yesterday morning from pneumonia after illness of two weeks.
Mr. Barrett was born near Mohawk but has lived in this city the past three years. He had been engaged in the lumber business and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife and two children, Allen and Herbert, besides several brothers and sisters.
Short funeral services will be conducted at the house Saturday morning at 9 o'clock (sun time). At 11 o'clock services will be conducted at the Warsaw M. E. church. Rev. Cope of Grace church will be in charge. Interment will be made in the Warsaw cemetery.
