Benjamin Marion Morgan, 76, of Lyman, SC, died Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Mary Black Hospital.

Husband of Jean (Taylor) Morgan, he was a son of the late C. Butler Morgan and the late Lillie Belle (Suddeth) Morgan.

A member of the First Baptist Church of Duncan, he served as Head Usher. He was a member of Irving Southworth Lodge #350, a Hejaz Shriner and served with the Hejaz Shrine Hospital Activities Group.

Mr. Morgan was retired from Springs Industries in Lyman. He was the Fire Chief at the Lyman Fire Department for 35 years and was also a faithful friend and employee of Stribling Funeral Home in Duncan for 10 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Jean (Taylor) Morgan of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Ben F. and Paulette Morgan of Lyman; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Charlie Oliver of Muscle Shoals, AL; grandsons, Joshua and Angie Morgan of Greer and Jamie Bailey of Lyman; granddaughter, Erin Oliver of Muscle Shoals, AL; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Taylor Morgan of Greer and Sean Oliver of Muscle Shoals, AL; sister, Elizabeth Hileman of Oliver Springs, TN.

He was predeceased by a brother, Butler Morgan; and sisters, Frances Cooper Lawrence and Flossie Morgan.

Visitation was held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Stribling Funeral Home in Duncan.

Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Duncan, conducted by Rev. Garry Harper. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites.
