Delmar Lee Allen, 92 year old South Coffeyville resident passed from this life April 17, 2013, in Coffeyville, Kansas.

He was born February 4, 1921, in Benton County Arkansas to Bert and Monta (Belew) Allen.

He attended and graduated from Hardin High School in Hardin, Missouri. Delmar joined the United States Army and served his country during World War II.

On June 1, 1947 he married the love of his life, Lula Viola Donaldson in Yuma, Arizona. In 1972 they moved their family to the Nowata County area and lived here the remainder of their lives.

Delmar was a member of the Church of Christ and the National Rifle Association (NRA). He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, raising a garden of vegetables and flowers, and raising Herford cattle. He was a very hard working man that was quite a do it yourselfer. He loved to take on a task of building something and doing it himself. He even built his own home. Delmar loved his family and was very proud of his daughters and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Proceeding Mr. Allen in death is wife, Viola Allen; his parents, Bert and Monta Allen; and siblings, Vera Shackleford, Anita Allen, Velda Allen, and Dale Allen.

Survivors include his two daughters, Dona Cooper and husband Ernie of Grove, Oklahoma; Sharon Brown and husband Steve; two grandchildren, Blake Brown and wife Sandra, and Chad Brown; two great granddaughters, Shelby and Kylea Brown, all of South Coffeyville; one nephew, Larry Wiggins, wife Jan, their daughter, Katie and her fiancé Corey Quebedeaux, and a host of friends.
