Miss Jennie E. Madson, 78, of Shady Lane Home for the Aged, Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Theodore Sauer will officiate and burial will be in Gjerpen Cemetery, Town of Cato.

Miss Madson was born May 8, 1890, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Hoverson Madson.

She enlisted in the Army Nursing Corps and served at Camp Lewis, Wash., and in France during World War I. She retired as a career nurse in 1946 and took residence in Manitowoc.

Miss Madson was a member of American Legion Post 185, Chicago.

Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Wednesday until noon Thursday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state until time of service.

Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church or the Cancer Society.
