This was my biological Father whom I only met twice in my lifetime. He gave me up for adoption a month after my birth in 1965 when my mother died due to complications of my birth.
He was born at home and raised in a small farming comunity in Central Georgia. From 1950 to 1954 he served in the US Navy as a gunners mate and third class petty officer in Korea.
He served on the carriers, USS Gilbert Islands, USS Valley Forge, and USS Tarawa.
James Made his home in Springfield, MA. from 1954 till his death. He was a member of the Brigham Masonic Lodge of Ludlow MA. He worked for the Springfield Union-News in the dispatch department and retired in 1991. He also worked many years for Taylor Rental Co. in South Hadley MA.
James leaves behind his wife of 32 years Eileen (Stevenson) Crosby of Springfield. MA. Two sons, James R. Crosby III of West Hartford, CT. and David J. Wiltse of Puyallup, WA. Two Daughters, Bonnie Curry and Kathleen Bassett both of Chicopee, MA. Stepson Larry Gonyea and stepdaughter Donna Dougherty both of Springfield, MA. A sister Sara James of Macon GA. and stepsister Berta-may Cardin of Allentown GA.
James is proceeded in death by his sister Betty Wiltse, Brothers, MJ, and Thomas Crosby as well as his first wife Margaret (Marjie) Crosby. James left behind 6 Grandchildren.
