A native of Wilkes County, he graduated from Southwestern Theological Seminary and was retired director of the church social ministry for the Macon, Ga., Baptist Association. He was a former teacher in the Leaksville Township Schools.
Surviving are wife, Mary Ruth Baker Fore; son, Dr. Baker Fore of Oklahoma City; sister, Mrs. Geraldine Yarbrough of Sanford; brothers, J.P. Fore, Truman Fore, both of Sanford, Louis Fore of Charlotte; three grandchildren.
