"Adam Teneyck Shaul, eldest son of the late Teneyck and Emma Bump Shaul, died Sunday morning, November 30th, 1919, at the home of his brother, Berton Shaul, in the town of Burlington, Otsego county, where he had been for two weeks suffering from a cancer on the hand. Mr. Shaul was the eldest of a family of twelve children. He was born September 21st, 1863, in the town of Stark, Herkimer county. He came to Otsego county about forty years ago, most of the time being spent in the town of Otsego, but for the past two years had resided about one and one-half miles south of Hartwick. Mr. Shaul was an honest, upright man, respected by all who knew him. He had been a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Hartwick about twenty-five years. Surviving him are three sisters, Mrs. Myron Shaul of VanHornesville, Mrs. Austin Moran, and Mrs. Dean Mack of Hartwick; three brothers, Arthur, of Harrisburg, Pa., Clarence, of Middlefield and Berton, of Burlington ... burial in the Hartwick cemetery, the Odd Fellows conducting the service at the grave. Relatives were present from Harrisburg, Pa., Johnstown, Mohawk, Herkimer, VanHornesville, Middlefield, Burlington and Hartwick."
