Elroy E. Nelson, 53, of 10232 County Truck JJ, Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Sunday Afternoon at Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Funeral services were at 11am at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders. The Rev. Carl W. Peters and The Rev. Oscar Twedt officating with burial in Gjerpen Cemetery.
Mr. Nelson was born August 21, 1930 at Quarry, son of Roy and Myrtle Paulson Nelson. He attended Madison School and graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, in 1948. He married Carol Wiesner in Manitowoc on June 8, 1960 The couple lived for a short time in Manitowoc and have lived most of the years since marriage at their present address.
He was employed a machinist at the Oil Rite Corp. in Manitowoc. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church; had severed in various offices and on committees through the years and was at present on the Board of Deacons.
Survivors included his wife, Carol; a son, Eric at home : a daughter, Carrie at home: one sister Mrs. Robert Rue ( Violet) of rural Manitowoc : and nieces and nephews.
