Hanover, Alfred H. Fishel, age 94, passed away on March 15, 2018 at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover. He was the loving husband of Lucille E. (Stauffer) Fishel; together they shared over 66 years of marriage.
Alfred was born in Seven Valleys and was the son of the late Lester and Ethel (Henry) Fishel. He graduated from Glen Rock High School class of 1941. He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Navy and was honorably discharged. He worked as a steamfitter/pipefitter for over 50 years and was a member of Union Local #520. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and cherished the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife Lucille; he is survived by his son Keith Fishel and wife Evonne and Kevin Fishel and wife Joyce; his grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandson; his brother Mark Fishel; his sister Joan Myers and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Carolyn Fishel and brother Artus Fishel.
A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at Christ United Church of Christ in Jefferson, 32 Baltimore St., Codorus PA 17311 with Rev. Bonnie Whittier officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Cemetery with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 6-8 pm at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 1275 N. Main St., Spring Grove and on Monday from 10-11 am at the church.
