RIDGELAND - Robbie Bell McMinn Scott, 81, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, Highland Home Nursing Home in Ridgeland.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is also today from 1 p.m. until service. Burial will be in Goodhope Cemetery in Batesville. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Scott was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Panola County to the late Robert Boyce and the late Amanda Cuebelle Johnson McMinn, graduated from Courtland High School, and received her B.A. and master's degrees from The University of Mississippi.

She was one of the first special education teachers in the state of Mississippi and retired after 30 years of teaching. She taught at many schools, including Church Street Elementary School in Tupelo and Central and Calloway High Schools in Jackson.

She was a member of Broadmeadow United Methodist Church in Jackson.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Joann McMinn Mullan.

Survivors include:
her husband of 61 1/2 years, Robert Stanley "Bob" Scott of Jackson;
daughter and granddaughters Cindy Scott Soro, Vanessa and Amanda, all of Olive Branch;
one son, Tony Scott of San Francisco, CA;
one sister, Amanda Jane McMinn Morris of Batesville, MS;
one brother Paul Harvey McMinn of Jacksonville, FL
and she is also survived by the hundreds of special education students she taught during her educational career, all of whom she considered her "kids."
