The death of Mrs. H. O. Christian, of Thirteenth and Chestnut streets,
Berwick, occurred at 6:20 o'clock last evening, after an illness of
two years, during which she was confined to her bed for two and a half
months. She was aged fifty-seven years. General complications was the
cause of death.
Mrs. Christian was born in Briar Creek and had been a resident of this
vicinity her entire life. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran
Church. Her husband, who served as president and a member of the
Berwick council, survives as do the following daughters, Mrs. James
Stout, of Danville; Mrs. Lloyd Farver, of Flint, Mich. Seven
grandchildren survive as do the following brothers and sisters: Frank
Sponenberg, of Berwick; Mrs. Samuel Oliver, of Bridgeport, Conn; and
Mrs. Frank Nace, of Trenton, N.J.
Services will be held at two o'clock on Saturday afternoon at the
Kelchner funeral home and will be in charge of Rev. F. L. Mammig,
pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church. Interment will be made in Pine
Grove cemetery.
