Animal Trainer Dies Here After Lengthy Illness

Services for Dale Slyker, 34, of 2626 Lillian street, who died Thursday in a local sanitarium, will be held at 10 a.m. today in Rose-Neath funeral home with the Rev. A. T. Pilgreen, pastor of Parkview Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Mr. Slyker, who was a native of Shreveport, attended the local schools. After graduating from high school he joined the C. A. Wortham shows and later became an animal trainer. He had also been connected with Beckman and Gerety shows, Morris and Castle shows and Goldin Bros. shows.

The deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Slyker; two brothers, Rioux Slyker, Natchitoches, and Emile Slyker, Barksdale Field; two cousins, one aunt and two uncles.

Pallbearers will be A. O. Phaneul, B. T. Ryan, T. B. Hartman, O. J. Hebert, Will McGattlin, John Brown, Normand L. London and Marvin Craig.
