Mrs Bernice Griffith, 89, of 215 Park Ave, died Saturday in a local hospital following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel with Dr Kenneth L Swank officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Born in Pemberton Jan 10, 1881, she was the daughter of the late Richard & Nancy Walker Souder and the wife of the late Charles P Griffith. She was a member of the First Baptist Church & the Golden Age Club of the Women's Club of Beckley.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs Iris George & Mrs Rose Davis, both of Beckley; two sons, Earl H and Noel O, both of Beckley; three grandchildren & five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Fred Souder, Zane Griffith, O. E. Miller, Robert Hatcher, George Parker, Ira Holliday, Jr, Bill Clarke and Hud Wills.
