THE VILLAGES — Howard L. Wallman, 87, died Saturday, April 20, 2013.

Mr. Wallman was born in Jersey City, N.J. He retired as captain from the New York City Fire Department after more than 25 years of service. He was a World War II Air Force veteran. He was a member of the North Lake Presbyterian Church, the American Legion, Masons, Water Buffalo, and the Adopt a Vet Program.

Survivors include his wife Esther; sons Bruce, Lady Lake, Brian, Leesburg; daughter, Linda Vosburg, Lady Lake; 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, at North Lake Presbyterian Church, Lady Lake, with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
