Industrialist. He founded Bay State Lamp Co. in 1901 in Middleton, Mass., which rebuilt burned-out light bulbs. The company was moved to Salem and became Hygrade Incandescent Lamp Co., which merged with Nilco Co. of Pennsylvania to become Sylvania Electric Products.
