Mr. Ballentine was a native of Somerville. He had lived for more than 50 years in Westfieid. where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Westfield Old Guard.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Nellie Apgar Ballentine who died in 1962.
He is survived by a brother, Arthur K. Ballentine of Somerville, and five nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad St., with the Rev. Dr. Clark W. Hunt of the Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
