Cora Lee Tiny Howery Absher
TAZEWELL, Va. - Cora Lee (Tiny) Howery Absher age 58 of Tazewell, died Monday, May 2, 2005 at a Tazewell hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born at Witten Valley, Va., and was a daughter of the late Glen (Chap) and Margaret Ellen Peery Howery.
She had made her home in the Tazewell area for most of her life. She was a former employee of Eastern Isles Manufacturing in Richlands, Va. She had an Associate Degree from Southwest Virginia Community College. She attended Tazewell Worship Center.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Mose Stewart Howery and John Wayne Howery.
Survivors include husband, Darrell J. Absher; daughter, Ms. Christy Ellen Absher of the home; son, Mark Joseph Absher and wife Wendy Michelle of Thompson Valley, Va.; brothers, Jack Walter Howery of Cliffield, Va., Glen Melvin Howery Charles City, Va., Bobby Lee Howery of Pisgah, Va., Sam Everett Howery of Charlotte, N.C., Donald Peery Howery of Witten Valley, Va., Jodi Howery of Plymouth, N.C., James Howery of Witten Valley, Va., grandchildren: Jennifer Beth Absher, John Wayne Absher and Jesse James Absher.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home of Tazewell, Va., with Rev. Barry Absher officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
